Gajendra Singh to produce Surukshetra!

After resigning from the Zee TV, the pioneer of singing reality shows moves to Sahara One for his next non-fiction...

Gajendra Singh needs no introduction. The man who single handedly coined the concept of singing reality shows on small screen with his ace product, Sa Re Ga Ma… on Zee TV has moved to Sahara One to launch another reality show along with a nonfiction serial named 'Surshetra.'

An insider says, "Gajendra Singh along with his daily soap titled Ghar Aaja Pardesi Tera Des Bulaye Re, is coming up with a reality show wherein Himesh Reshammiya will be seen on the judges panel."

We also hear that if things fall in place then
Atif Aslam will join the music director on the judge's panel.

Even after repeated attempts, Gajendra Singh was not available for his views.

So brace yourselves to witness two legendary singers in a fresh avtaar and when it comes from a certain Gajendra Singh, we known it won't leave us disappointed!

I get a gujarati nwsppr 'mid-day' at my place...it has the news that Atif Aslam will be part of this reality show...the show will take place next year...n Atif is very popular in India specially among youth...he has agreed..but, hasnt signed the deal yet...he will do it later when he vists India.

Atif ne khud kaha tha that such reality shows r scripted. He didnt have a gud experience when he had come on d show Voice of India. I m not able to believe this news. Acc to me, aadee shud not do it.

Gajendra Singh, of Sai Baba Productions and the man behind popular non-fiction shows like Sa Re Ga Ma and Antakshari on Zee TV, is all set to bring viewers another reality show. The show, called Sur-Shetra, will air on Sahara One early next year and feature contestants from India and Pakistan. The show is essentially a competition, where participants will fight it out for the coveted position of Best Singer.

The show will be shot in Dubai and will have singer, actor and music director Himesh Reshammiya as mentor for the Indian participants. Contestants from Pakistan will be mentored by singer Atif Aslam, who marks his TV debut with the show.

Singh was unavailable for comment and an official from Sahara One denied any knowledge of the show.
